What most people will remember from game four Thursday night, between Tri-City and Spokane, Tyler Schmidt's game winner in double overtime. Giving the Ams the 4-3 win, and evening the series at two games a piece.
What should not be lost in translation, was the goaltending. Both the Chiefs James Reid and the Ams Drew Owsley faced 50 shots, making a combined 93 saves. Some remarkable. Just to keep their teams in the hunt for a win.
Head coach Jim Hiller said, "I thought the goaltending was outstanding on both ends. Yeah I thought Owsley made huge saves, and I thought Reid made great saves on his side too. So I think if you look at the two and say why did this game go so long, you probably have to look at both goaltenders."
Ams netminder Owsley added, "Big saves at the start of the game where really key for me... Just settling in such a big game like that. Obviously it's a huge high, we got to do a job on Sunday."
