RICHLAND, Wash.-- Dozens of doctors got to learn about surgery in a unique setting Monday: on a bus. The Biomet Sports Medicine Mobile Learning Center made its first ever stop in the Tri-Cities.
The bus typically goes to bigger cities or surgeons have to travel to conventions to see new technologies, but on Monday surgeons were able to stop by the bus on their breaks to see new options for cutting edge tools.
Peter Grossnickle, a Sales Representative for Biomet, says, "Here they can put their hands on instruments. They can try a new technology, consider new ways of doing surgery that might be less invasive and speed recovery."
"It gives the chance for you to see this equipment, get hands on with the equipment, get exposure to it and get a chance to practice it before actually doing the procedure," explained Dr. Gordon Hsieh, with Northwest Orthopaedic.
The next stop for the Biomet bus is in Hermiston on Tuesday.
