WALLA WALLA, Wash.—Local veterans will soon have more available services in our area. The Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center is expanding.
Two new facilities are being built and one is being renovated totaling $80.4-million. The project is federally funded.
One of the buildings will be a 2-story 70,000 square foot outpatient clinic. Patients will have access to physical therapy, occupational therapy and even a sleep lab. It will cost $71.4-million.
The second facility is a residential recovery unit with 36 beds and will be 22,000 square feet. Each bedroom will have their private bathroom and there will even be a wing just for women. The unit will cost $9-million.
The clinical services building will also be renovated. They hope to wrap up construction in one to two years.
