KENNEWICK, Wash. -- If you walked into the Kennewick Red Lion Hotel Tuesday, you may have thought you entered a celebration, but it was much more.
A flash mob at the Live United celebration included 20 middle and high school students from the Eastern Washington Dance and Cheer elite group who put on the performance for the United Way of Benton and Franklin county.
The dancers say, it's their way of giving back, "we just knew that it was a great opportunity to be in the community and to help out with everybody who volunteered and donated money this year for them," says dancer Jackie Hightower.
But she wasn't alone."We love to entertain and if it's helping other people, it's what we like to do," adds dancer Desiree Walter.
The whole point of the event was to show the many ways the United Way has helped the community, and how the community helped the organization raise $4.5 million dollars in their annual campaign.
