YAKIMA, Wash. - A Yakima judge has set bail at $1 million for a man accused of stabbing another man to death.

Matthew Leonard, 34, is the suspect police say was involved in a bar fight that turned deadly in Yakima Monday.

Leonard faces second-degree murder charges for the death of Jason Linder, 36.

Officers responded to the parking lot between Ted Motors and Arty'sTavern at about 2:00 a.m. Police say Linder was found dead on a sidewalk with a stab wound.

"Both parties took off and then it's closed already for an hour, and then we found out somebody got stabbed there outside the parking lot," says Arthur Lamberte, owner of Arty's.

Leonard has two prior felony convictions, according to prosecutors.

His next court appearance is set for May 3.

This is the second criminal homicide of the year for the city of Yakima and the fifth for Yakima County.
