Woman found dead in Sunnyside, coroner prepares for two autopsies
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - Coroner Jack Hawkins is preparing for two autopsies Tuesday after a woman was found dead near a crash on the same day the body of a man was discovered at the other end of the Valley.
Hawkins confirmed with KNDO on Sunday that a woman, likely in her 30s and from the Lower Valley, died from a crash in Sunnyside near the intersection of Van Belle and Chute Roads. It is unclear if her family has been notified of her death and her identity has not been released.
The second autopsy was previously announced on Saturday. Yakima County Sheriff's deputies discovered a body of a man in his 50s on Saturday as well off the Naches-Wenas Rd. His body was wrapped in black plastic for less than a week, according to YSO. He has not been identified either.
Anyone with information about the identity of the man discovered near Naches is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 574-2500.
