SWAT stand off in Pasco ends with one man dead

PASCO, Wash. -- A four hour stand off with a SWAT team in Pasco ended with a man killing himself. Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies say the man showed up at his ex-wife's house on the 1,000 block of Road 54 Tuesday afternoon. He grabbed a gun and made suicidal comments. The woman was able to escape and call 911.

Deputies tried to call the man but he didn't answer the phone. The Tri-Cities Regional SWAT team sent in a tactical robot to find him, but found him dead from a gunshot wound around 5:00 p.m.

One neighbor said she knew the man for 10 years. "I was worried, because I had just recently taken a trip to D.C. and he had cracked a joke about why didn't I bring him anything. I just laughed it off, but I looked at her and she wasn't laughing," said Carrie Fisher.

Neighbors say the man had shown signs of depression before the stand-off.
