Former Hanford Patrolmen accused of theft

Posted: Updated:

Hanford Patrol officers are expected to enforce the law, but three former officers are accused of breaking it. Dean Badeaux, Adam Bowen, and Alfred Smith have been charged with 2nd degree theft involving burglaries on the Hanford site.

Back in January, Hanford patrol notified the Benton County Sheriff's office of stolen items.

"The items that were taken seem to be limited to small items that how easy to carry such as portable generators, a truck winch, some hand tools and other small items," said Deputy Erik Magnuson with the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

The suspects have all been fired. The maximum punishment for the crime is five years in prison, but because of no prior record, the former patrolmen are looking at up to 60 days in jail if convicted.
