KENNEWICK, Wash.—Some local moms celebrated Mother's Day a little bit early Saturday. The Carson Kolzig Foundation Responding to Autism Center had an event just for moms who have children with Autism.
Helpers say moms who have children with Autism often forget about themselves, because they are so busy taking care of their kids. However, Saturday they were able to have massages, manicures, makeovers and gifts.
"It's great to have a day as a mom with a child with autism to just be able to come and have time, because I think that's something you don't get, because you're wanting to make sure that your child is doing ok and just to have some time to say, ok it's ok to be a mom and be pampered," says Laurie Sarver, Mother.
