Heritage University welcomes new alumni at 29th commencement
TOPPENISH, Wash. – Graduation season has kicked off for the Class of 2011 and on Saturday, 160 students participated in Heritage University's 29th commencement ceremony.
Graduates came from across the state representing the school's multiple campuses. More than 1500 people attended the event.
Mercedes Martinez is one of the newest alums leaving with a B.A. in Business Administration from the university. She says her time at Heritage allowed her to live out the school slogan, "Go far without going far away."
"I'm really happy for all the opportunities they've given me," said Martinez. "The skills and development that I've had here to go and further my dreams."
The private non-profit university conferred degrees on 260 students this year that graduated at different times of the school year.
The Class of 2011 is made up of alumni who studied in 10 different academic programs ranging from associate's to master's degrees.
