Richland, WA-Kadlec Regional Medical Center Monday dedicated its surgical waiting room to a longtime doctor.
Dr. Richard Pettee was one of the first orthopedic surgeons in Eastern Washington. He started practicing medicine in the Tri-Cities shortly after world war two.
Jackie Adkins remembers working with Pettee in the 1970s when she worked as an operating room technician at Kadlec.
"He was awesome to work with, always kind, gentle and just good people."
Pettee retired in the early 90s. His wife and children joined him at Monday's ceremony.
