KENNEWICK, Wash.—Do you have an opinion on a major future facility for all of Tri-Cities residents? The Regional Facilities District Board is now asking you to vote on four possibilities.
3,000 homes were picked at random to receive the survey. If you have been selected, you should get a survey in the mail within the next few days. It goes over the four options, which are, an aquatic center, performing arts center, Hanford Reach Interpretive Center, or Three Rivers Convention Center campus expansion. If one passes, the Facilities District expects an increase of up to .2% in the local sales tax.
"They want assurance that the project or projects that they send forward have the support of the public," Stan Strebel, Pasco Deputy City Manager.
The surveys are due within two weeks. After that, they'll be analyzed and taken to the July meeting.
