NEAR GRANGER, Wash. -- The Yakima County Sheriff's Office says two people died in a swimming accident Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff's Deputies say a 26-year-old woman and 31-year-old man went swimming with their family at Toppenish Creek just south of Granger. They got swept under a bridge.
Rescue teams were called just after 2:00 p.m. The victims were rushed to a hospital but later pronounced dead.
County coroner Jack Hawkins tells KNDO determined the cause of death for April Gasca and David Hyde was drowning. He says both of the victims were related.
