PASCO, Wash.—A Burlington Northern Railroad train derailed in Pasco around 5:30pm Sunday.
The Benton County Fire captain, Ron Fryer, says seven cars went off the tracks. They don't what caused the crash. However, the real concern is the 25,000 gallons of hydrochloric acid that leaked out of one of the cars.
Fryer says neighbors have no reason for concern, because it happened in an isolated area.
Cleanup is expected to be a lengthy process. No set amount of time has been decided.
