Chiawana high school continues its journey for the schools first ever state title. The Riverhawks are in the midst of their first state playoff run in boy's soccer. The Hawks have made into the final eight in state, and take on the defending 4A state champions Stadium Saturday. Quite an accomplishment for a team that entered the playoffs at 8-8 and losing its final game of the regular season.
Head coach Rich Zoller said, "Playing really well right now and it's going to be tough for someone to knock us off. That's our goal to win a state title... But we have to understand we have to go earn it on Saturday. It's not going to be easy."
Senior midfielder Nicholas Stallbum said, "Through the bumps and bruises it really helped us. We have Pasco on our back now. We have the Tri-Cities on our back now we're in a great position to do something wonderful for this program and we're hoping to capitalize on that."
