KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. -- It was a beautiful day for a bike ride, especially around the Yakima River Canyon.
Today people rode for a cause, the 10th annual "Canyon For A Day Bike Ride." The event is organized by Yakima County Crime Stoppers to raise money for the organization.
"Well, you know everyone does bake sales and golfing events and so on and we wanted something that was a little different and we started out, this is our 10th year, started out with just a few hundred people and we expect to have 1200 bikers, so it's grown," says Rick Ensey of Yakima County Crime Stoppers.
Crime stoppers say they expect 1000 people participated in the event. Each biker paid $35.00. All of the money will go to operating expenses and for rewards.
