Richland Baseball Looks to Continue Odd Year Domination

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash. -- For the Richland Bombers baseball team, odd years are their time to shine. The team won state titles in 2005, 2007, and 2009. Will the trend continue in 2011?

The Bombers are making their 5th straight final 4 appearance. That is a state record. They are also looking to reach the state title game for the 3rd straight year.

The Bombers will take on Bothell Friday at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma in the state semis.

The Bombers are hoping for the big trophy again in 2011.

"We know what to expect," said Bombers Head Coach Ben Jacobs. "We know what kind of pitching we're going to see. It's always good. The crowds are bigger. The stadiums are bigger and you know how big the locker rooms are. You know how big the stadium is, everything. There's not going to be any surprises this year."

"It's a big game but we've been there before," said Bombers Pitcher Syd Hall. "We need to have the mentality like we've been there before and just play Bomber baseball."
