The Pasco School District dedicates a new student-built home on Thursday.
Pasco and Chiawana High School Battle it out on the football field for the first time this year after one school splits into two. And now, another first, off the field.
A special gathering with students and faculty from both schools after the Bulldogs and Riverhawks come together to build a new home in Pasco.
"I'm proud of this house we built, that we could work as a team and we all got together and constructed this house," Chiawana High School Student Alex Stupak said.
To honor both schools, the name "Team Pasco Home" was created. Students say the organization gives them a skill set you can't learn during lecture.
Students were involved from the groundbreaking on and after working on the design and construction two hours each day, a family will have a new place to call home.
District leaders say the work students do out here will give them a boost in scholarship opportunities and help them pursue technical education careers.
