KENNEWICK, Wash.—A family celebrates a three-year-old boy's actions after he helped save a man involved in a severe chainsaw accident.
Three-year-old Adam Vanderpool rushed inside to find his father after he and his grandfather saw their neighbor fall from a tree and cut his arm. The family tells KNDU, Mike Warner was cutting down trees in his yard with a chainsaw. That's when a falling tree branch knocked him off his ladder, and he was hanging from his harness. Adam's grandfather told him to get his father.
"I just did it. I just called him," says Adam Vanderpool, 3-year-old helper.
"He went running and said daddy, daddy the tree fell and the man fell too," says Glen Vanderpool, grandfather.
Warner is now at Kennewick General Hospital for injuries and is expected to be there for the next four days.
