PASCO, Wash. -- Over 40 employees at a call center in Pasco received pink slips last week.
120 employees work for the West Corporation which operates as a call center for various companies including AT&T. Consolidation of positions sparked the layoffs. 80 other workers won't be affected.
One employee that didn't want to be identified is still stunned from the news, "pretty much, I was really shocked. I cried because I do have a family that I have to support, so it was very hard for me to take the information that I was no longer going to have a job."
That worker wanted to remain anonymous because she was told that there's a chance that some workers may be able to keep their jobs, if new positions are created.
