Prosecution rests in Morales trial

PASCO, WA- A Franklin County jury Wednesday could begin deliberating its verdict in a high profile murder trial.

Prosecutors Tuesday rested their case against Ramon Garcia Morales, accused of murdering a man and critically wounding the man's wife.

The state's final witness, a detective who interviewed Morales after his arrest, told the jury Morales and his brother Jose shot Alfredo Garcia after he didn't hire them for work in an onion field.

Morales hasn't spoken to his attorneys for the past year, but at the time of his arrest, the detective says Morales claimed self defense.
