Nine soldiers injured at the Yakima Training Center

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Nine soldiers with the 17th Fires Brigade were injured Tuesday morning in a military vehicle accident at the Yakima Training Center.

Joint Base Lewis-McChord spokesperson, Joe Kubistek tells KNDO two of the soldiers received serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m.

Kubistek says the soldiers were from JBLM and training at the YTC.

Seven of the soldiers were treated and released. As of 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, two of the soldiers who were seriously injured are now listed in stable condition.

The soldiers were out doing field artillery training when their LMTV vehicle rolled over, according to JBLM.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
