Walla Walla's Ambler Named Gatorade Washington Softball Player of Year
WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Walla Walla's Alyson Ambler is in some elite company. She has been named the Gatorade Washington Softball Player of the Year. She is now up for the national award which will be announced in June.
The junior went 15-0 this year for the Blue Devils, leading them to a 4A State Title. Ambler had 171 strikeouts in 98 innings pitched.
Pro athletes like Derek Jeter and Mark Sanchez have won state Gatorade awards in the past. Hope Klicker, another Walla Walla Pitcher, won the softball award last year.
