Kansas Transfer Woolridge Joining WSU Basketball Program

PULLMAN, Wash. – Royce Woolridge has signed a Financial Aid Agreement with Washington State University and will join the men's basketball team beginning with the 2011-12 season, head coach Ken Bone announced Friday.

"We're excited about the signing of Royce," Bone said. "He transfers in with a grade point average above a 3.5 from Kansas and is just an outstanding young man with high character values. He didn't play a lot of minutes last season but showed his ability to play at a very high level in high school.  Royce will be a great fit to our backcourt and now has a year to prepare himself for competition."

A native of Phoenix, Ariz., Woolridge (6-3, 182, Guard) attended Sunnyslope High School where he played under head coach Danny Mannix before heading to the University of Kansas for his freshman year (2010-11). At Kansas Woolridge appeared in 16 games and averaged 2.8 minutes, 0.6 points and 0.6 assists a game. He scored a career-high six points in eight minutes in his Jayhawk debut against Longwood (Nov. 12).
