Families reunite at Army Facility in Pendleton

PENDLETON, Oreg.-  Families are reunited Wednesday after 70 national guard soldiers were de-mobilized at the army aviation support facility in Pendleton.

they're part of bravo company and transported personnel and equipment in afghanistan during operation enduring freedom.

the soldiers and their families were honored for their courage... and the sacrifices they've made over the last 10 months.

"So 5 days after she was born he had to leave to back to Afghanistan. So that was probably the hardest part, but we were just thankful he was home for her birth and got to meet her, says Katie Maddox.

"I know my wife is stronger and has more courage than I do, just to put up with two small children while I'm gone. I just can't thank her enough for that," says pilot Anson Smith.

smith says his first mission now that he's back with his family... a vacation to paris.
