PASCO, WA- Defense attorneys indicate a man accused of murder will blame his drug use.
Pasco police arrested Kurtis Chapman, 23, last May after officers discovered the body of his former girlfriend beneath his front porch.
The coroner determined Shenay Greenough, 19, who was seven months pregnant, had been strangled.
Defense attorneys Monday told the judge they are lining up to testify an expert on diminished mental capacity due to drug use.
Chapman faces second degree murder. Prosecutors have also charged him with first degree manslaughter for the death of the woman's unborn child.
His trial is set to begin next month.
