RICHLAND, Wash.—John Dam Plaza in Richland will soon be under construction.
Parks and Recreation received a bid for $210,000 for a 744 square foot building with restrooms. They also hope to build a matching clock tower that will be at the corner of George Washington Way and Knight Street. A representative says there is a huge need for the updates.
"Right now without a restroom it's difficult to host those events with porta potties. We hope by making those improvements events will grow. We'll get more people at each one," says Phil Pinard, Planning and Construction Manager.
A covered stage is also being discussed. Construction of the restroom will begin on Wednesday.
