Public asked to weigh in on park services

YAKIMA, Wash- Yakima city leaders want to know what you think of the local parks.

They've sent out 4,300 surveys to Yakima homes. The tight city budget means the Parks and Recreation Department must rely on grant money to keep parks going. In order to apply for these grants they need residents to fill out the surveys and turn them back in.

"We need to hear what they want us to know about Parks and Rec and how we can better serve their needs," Parks and Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson explains.

Wilkinson says the survey only takes 10 to 15 minutes to finish. You can find the survey on the Parks and Recreation website:
