Beauchamp Talks About Being Sidelined

Posted: Updated:

Kennewick, WA---    The Fever playing tonight's game without their leading tackler in Jason Beauchamp.  He's sidelined the rest of the way, after signing his contract to play with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL. A contract worth 40,000 dollars.

Head coach Adam Shackleford is unwilling to play Beauchamp in this year's playoffs, in fear of risking injury and his future in the UFL.  With that said, we spoke with Beauchamp in our KNDU studios about this decision, and how he's helping the team from the bench.

Beauchamp said, "It's difficult, but I think everyone... We understand it's a business, and we're all rooting for each other. I feel like I'm a coach as far as on the sideline... Getting the guys and letting them know, 'hey anytime coach does this... It usually means this.' I'll tell them exactly and always... Always keep it honest you know with them. Just so they can improve and capitalize on everything they can out there."
