KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Fleas and ticks are always a problem for dogs and cats, and now we're learning some veterinarians are seeing an increase in cases.
Vets we talked with say they're seeing an up tick in the numbers of dogs with ticks in tow.
Our weather this spring has a created a bigger problem than normal years.
"We've had a fairly wet spring, we tend to see more and more ticks in the spring and fall months, a lot of dogs going down by the river in the brush or dogs that go camping with their owners," explains Dr. Sharon Molten.
She says compared to previous years, the summer has never looked as bad as it does now. Dr. Molten adds owners should take their dog to a veterinarian if they notice a problem.
