GM offering free car insurance to new car buyers in Washington and Oregon
PASCO, Wash. -- General Motors is trying out a new buyers incentive program, free car insurance for a year for anyone with a valid drivers license who buys a *new* Chevy, Buick, GMC or Cadillac.
This incentive began on July 6th and will go through September 6th for car buyers in Washington and Oregon only.
Craig Cavanaugh, the general manager at McCurley integrity dealership in Pasco, expects the insurance to make a difference in the next few months.
"We had one person come in who has heard about it and one person who didn't know about it. But he bought yesterday because of it.'>
GM is testing auto insurance as a standard feature to see it's consumer appeal. Cavanaugh says sales of GM cars have risen 34 percent since fall of last year and expects it to go up even more. The offer is through MetLife insurance.
