Mother helping son fight genetic disorder

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.—One local mother is raising money for research to help her song fight a genetic disorder.

A yard sale was held at Lord of Life Church in Kennewick in honor of Chris Nanny.  Nanny has Tuberous Sclerosis, a disorder that causes tumors to form in various organs.  Most end up developing epilepsy, autism, and learning and behavior problems.  Nanny says the disease has given him many challenges.

"They told us I was going to have part of my other kidney removed because they found another tumor and they didn't know if it would grow back or not," says Chris Nanny.

About $1-million people worldwide have the disease.  All of the money raised today will go toward finding a cure for the disease.  If you would like to donate you can send a check to the Lord of Life Church in Kennewick.
