BENTON COUNTY, Wash.—Every child needs guidance especially at a young age, but many don't have good mentors in their lives.
One local child recently teamed up with a remote control plane flyer and car racer. This came after the 12-year-old's parents were incarcerated, and he was left to live with his older brother. Now he flyer hopes to give the boy a new hobby to focus on.
"I think in the long run he'll start picking up on the meaning a little bit that the hobby will help him learn about aerodynamics and a lot of other skills that he can take forward. You never know this kid might be a future pilot," says Dave Miller, mentor.
Miller says the young boy has become so excited about flying planes and racing remote cars that he gets up early in the morning to learn a few new tricks.
