YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Fisher Park Golf Course in Yakima is holding a family golf month. Instructors teach children as young as three or four years old how to play golf.
Fisher Park uses the month of July to encourage people of all ages to try the sport. Some parents think it's a good idea to introduce sports to pre-schoolers.
"They're starting to understand things and be able to take directions and they get excited easily," says Erin Fries, mother of one of the golf students.
The course offers deals during family golf month, like nine holes of free golf on the weekends for ages 17 and under, but a parent has to come along.
Pee-wee lessons are scheduled through mid-August. But if there's more interest Fisher Park could add another lesson at the end of August.
