Yakima economic team says future of Hanford matters to the Valley

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Yakima County's economic development association "New Vision" is hosting a Hanford representative at their board meeting tomorrow.

New Vision estimates at least 500 Yakima County residents commute to Hanford for work. So, they follow issues like layoffs and the clean up at the plant very closely.

"It's got a pretty significant impact here in Yakima County and so yeah we want to understand what's going on there," says New Vision President Dave McFadden.

McFadden says they're interested in the presentation on Hanford's history. However, they also want to know what's next for Hanford and what that means for Yakima County.
