Woman drives car into river

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Richland woman is arrested after driving her car into the Columbia River.

It happened Friday night around 9 PM at Columbia Park near the duck pond.

Kennewick Police say 46 year old Elizabeth Westley was driving east bound when she went off the roadway into the water. They say alcohol was involved and that Westley was driving very fast.

Dive rescue was called to the scene and rescued the woman. Police believe it may have been a suicide attempt.
