Mobile mammography screenings roll through Tri-Cities
KENNEWICK, Wash.- A bus equipped with state-of-the-art digital imaging equipment was parked at Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick Tuesday.
The bus is called the Providence Mammography Coach and over the last eleven years it's served more than 26,000 women in Southeastern Washington.
The Radiologist on board says the best part about being mobile is reaching out to rural communities and also making check-ups convenient.
"There's a lot of excuses that you can make not to do it. Sometimes you just don't want to do it. It's not the most pleasant thing in the world. So we make it quick, efficient, easy, and you're done." says Lana Burnette
Burnette says they expect to be back in the Tri-Cities in October and says she wants to remind women over 40 to get a mammogram every year.
