YAKIMA, Wash- Yakima police continue their search for whoever is responsible for shooting a six-year old girl in the chest Wednesday night.
They say that at this point they have no reason to believe the attack was anything other than a random act of violence. According to police they've talked to everyone who was at the home during the shooting and they don't see a reason any of them would be a target.
Investigators are still working with a limited description of the suspect car, a silver sedan. Police do have some video but they won't give details about where it came from or what it shows.
Police also are getting some tips from the community but they're hoping for more.
"Somebody that was involved in this has talked to somebody about it and somebody out there has a conscience I'm hoping and will let us know", says Sgt. Mike Pollard of the Yakima Police Department.
As of yesterday evening, 6-year-old Sitlaly Calva was in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center.
She was shot in her front yard across the street from Barge Lincoln Elementary school.
Police said is she expected to recover from her injuries.
