Framers busy at Richland's Special Programs new building

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, WA- If work continues on schedule, Richland Schools' Special Programs will move into a new home by Thanksgiving.

Construction workers this week began framing the building on Snow Avenue. Next door is the Special Programs' current headquarters, which is an old, 1940s era military quarters for officers stationed at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.

The special programs department includes special education, bilingual instruction, and other state and federal programs designed to increase learning for students.

Total cost for the building is $1,225,000.
