PASCO, Wash.-- Mental evaluation prolonged for man accused of Pasco killing. Jose Morales and his brother are accused of shooting and killing a Pasco man and seriously wounding the man's wife in 2008.
Prosecutors say that Morales has already been found competent for trial but his mental capacity has been declining.
Prosecutors want the defendant taken back to the hospital for what is called "restoration of competency."
That will include treatment and medication that attorneys hope will prepare him to go to trial. A judge will decide on November 2nd if Morales is competent enough to be tried in court.
