Figure skating championships bringing in money and visitors

KENNEWICK, Wash.- A figure skating championship is bringing over 500 people and about 150 thousand dollars into the Tri-Cities this weekend.

Over 150 skaters will compete in the Pacific Northwest interclub skating championships at the Toyota Arena.

The Tri-City figure Skating Club President says it's fun to see kids of all ages compete.

"To see the kid's start out just barely walking on the ice to doing double and triple axels and loops; it's fascinating to me," says Robin Hudson.

If you want to go the competitions are from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, and from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. It's at the Toyota Arena and it's free to watch.
