Debi Shervey. It's a name that's often on our newscasts. It's a name we have come to know by her beautiful pictures and heartfelt emails to our newsroom.
Now we catch a glimpse of the woman behind the art.
"It's something I can do that doesn't hurt me anymore," Debi says "I have bad bones. I love to dig in the dirt, but it hurts me. I love to ride my horse, but I can't. This doesn't hurt me."
A lifetime of pain from week bones and a bout with cancer, but Debi says it's not the pain she's focusing on now.
"I'll be gone for 20 minutes and take 200 pictures. Or I'll take the long way home and do something different. I also see on your pictures, places I want to go now," she says.
And with a new camera, she says it's the moments in life only captured by the shutter of the lens that bring the most joy.
