Teens trying to get enough money to visit Washington DC
YAKIMA, Wash.-- Some teenagers are trying to raise money to take a trip to Washington DC.
They go to Madison House, a community center for high risk youth's in Yakima.
They say they hope to raise the money so they can visit DC and see where history actually happened.
The trip's organizer says a lot of the kids have never even been out of this area.
"They get to go and see things that people only see in history books. So a picture that's that small all of a sudden becomes very very real to them when they walk onto the field of Gettysburg or walk into George Washington's home," said Gane Bourgeios of Madison House.
The teens have been fundraising for the trip, but still have a long ways to go.
