Community members outraged over Sacajawea Park fire
PASCO, Wash.-- Community members outraged over Sacajawea Park fire. Members of the community are speaking up and they are not happy about the destruction of one of the shower and storage buildings in Sacajawea State Park.
Over the weekend Kay Metz, a boater saw the flames in the middle of the night and called 911. Metz says he is concerned over the graffiti and vandalism in the area. Kay Metz says "It's sad. It's sickening for people to go in and damage any restroom or any public service that provides to people. I think it's just horrible."
Pasco Firefighters told us there is major damage to the building and it needs to be completely taken down and rebuilt. Police have not confirmed or denied if gang activity is part of this possible arson.
Metz says he hopes to get local Lions Clubs involved in rebuilding the structure.
