Ellensburg, WA--- It's time to up the tempo at Central Washington. The 22nd ranked Wildcats, moving to two-a-day- practices today. Central will alternate between two-a-day's, and single day practices up into game week, where it opens up the season September 2nd, at home, against 7th ranked Texas A&M Kingsville.
During this stretch of practices, coaches challenge the players through conditioning, and long practices, in order to test not only physical endurance, but mental toughness.
CWU quarterback Ryan Robertson said, "You know they're huge. They're big work days for us. We get a lot done, and definitely on the conditioning part of it. Gets you into a game like tiredness. Where you got to keep playing even though say even if it's the fourth quarter... And you've been running all game."
Head coach Blaine Bennett added, "The conditioning is critical. Right now we've got a veteran group. Try to condition once a day. Our expectations is to win the GNAC. It's a very competitive conference, and compete at the national level."
