KENNEWICK, WA-WorkSource Columbia Basin says more than 1,000 soon-to-be former Hanford workers could show up at Friday's job fair.
CHPRC and Mission Support Alliance have sent early warning notices to 1,650 people, notifying them their jobs may no longer be there by the end of the September.
With clean up projects ending, and with federal stimulus money running out, WorkSource manager Candice Bluechel says most of these people knew this day was coming.
"I just think everyone assumed it wouldn't be them, and now, in some cases, 1,300 to 1,650 of them, it's them."
Bluechel says more than 110 employers will set up booths and will accept applications at Friday's job fair at TRAC in Pasco.
Employers will come from the Tri-Cities area, Western Washington, and from other parts of the country.
