PASCO, Wash. -- Firefighters from five different agencies worked to contain a brush fire Wednesday afternoon that threatened a home nearby.
The fire started around 1:45pm. It was noticed by a firefighter driving by the field. The blaze burned almost two acres of open land near Utah street in Pasco.
No injuries were reported, but firefighters say if they didn't respond as quickly as they did the damage could have been worse.
"Our big concern was the way the fire was moving it was moving in towards a bunch of houses and we did have some fence line burned along custom perimeter of the fire," explains Captain Dave Heir of the Pasco fire department.
The fire was put out in about 30 minutes.Investigators are looking into what caused the fire. Neighbors say kids were seen running from the area.
