Kennewick, Wash.-  Thousands of people have called the Tri Cities home after escaping famine and prosecution around the world.

Many refugees come with nothing but the clothes on their back, not knowing how to speak English and needing to pay back a loan for the cost of getting here.

17 year old Susan Bengston organized a world relief concert to raise money and recruit volunteers.

"Time is something that can be even more valuable. Just establishing relationships and a support system. It's really important to them."

The concert is Thursday August 18th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church on the corner of Dayton Street and Kennewick Avenue in Kennewick. it's free with donation.
