Technology helps libraries educate students

YAKIMA, Wash. -- School is just around the corner. Local libraries are ready for students to return with up-to-date technology. Yakima Valley Libraries have lots of online resources to help students do well. Students cannot do everything online for school though, as teachers still require some print materials for sources. Even still there is a mix of databases that are often on the shelves and online.

"We actually have a lot of databases for kids, which is a really great opportunity for them. They just have to have a library card in order to access them, which is free," said Katy Myers, Assistant Branch Manager for the Yakima Valley Libraries.

Myers says a benefit to having databases online is they are continuously updated.
