High school construction projects discussed in Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Yakima School District is getting ready to start building the new Eisenhower high school. It was the topic of discussion Friday among board members. They also discussed the remodeling project at Davis High. The board is trying hard to give attention to both projects, even though they're so different.
"We took the science labs that were scheduled to be built at Ike, and we wanted to make certain that science labs or classrooms at Davis were equitable," Superintendent Dr. Elaine Beraza said.
The plan for Eisenhower is to get the new school ready in two years. The Davis High updates should be finished by 2015. Also at the meeting board members unanimously approved a contract and construction funding to replace Stanton Academy.
